Technical Overview
The Aventure 2 comes out of the box as a Class II ebike, with pedal assist and throttle. It can be unlocked to a Class III ebike. The Aventure 2 will also operate with the throttle unplugged and removed, should you want to ride in an area where throttles are prohibited. Aventon ebikes are built to the IPX4 water-resistant standard. IPX4 means that your bike is resistant to water splashes from any direction. This means it’s OK to ride your ebike in light rain. It won’t be harmed by spray from a wet road or raindrops. Your ebike is not intended to be exposed to prolonged rain, be submerged, or subjected to a pressurized spray. Don’t use a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike. *Max range determined using PAS 1 throughout flat terrain with a rider weight of 160 lb.

Yes. Class 1 ebikes are pedal-assist only, meaning they have no throttle. By removing the throttle on your Aventon ebike, you can configure a class 2 to a class 1 ebike for trail use.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

Great bike.

I really like the bike. It's a very versatile trail/commuter bike. The lights and turn signals are a plus. Only downside, is the 4 inch **** tires don't accommodate the current frame locks out there😔😔😞

Durable, low maintenance, and FUN!

Love this E-bike.
Bought it used on Craigslist based on the reviews I read here.
I commute ~3 times per week on the Aventure2, a total of about 69 miles per week. Currently over 3000 miles and 141 hours. I’ve saved 69 trees according to the odometer, so I figured it was a good time for a review. I almost exclusively ride in turbo mode and while the range is limited, I don’t much mind. My commute is relatively short. Range has decreased some amount since purchase, for sure, but this is expected. The only maintenance I’ve done is fix a few flat tires, put some chain lube on, and replace the brake pads. Super easy. Highly recommend this bike as a FUN daily driver.
