Fat tire bikes are designed primarily for all-terrain use and can handle various terrains, including street, snow, sand, dirt trails, and rough roads.
The Aventure.2 weighs 77 lbs with the battery installed. (Battery weight is 10.6lbs)
Aventon’s Aventure.2 fat tire ebike comes equipped with a throttle that has a maximum speed of 20 mph.
Aventon ebikes like the Aventure.2 are built to the IPX4 water-resistant standard. IPX4 means that your bike is resistant to water splashes from any direction. This means it’s OK to ride your ebike in light rain. It won’t be harmed by spray from a wet road or raindrops. Your ebike is not intended to be exposed to prolonged rain, be submerged, or subjected to a pressurized spray. Don’t use a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
Yes. Class 1 ebikes are pedal-assist only, meaning they have no throttle and can only reach a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour. By removing the throttle on your Aventon ebike and ensuring the max speed limit is set to 20mph, you can configure a class 2 to a class 1 ebike for trail use.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

Don’t worry about the weight...

If you are concerned about riding a bike that weighs this much, don’t be. My wife and daughter love it and both felt immediately at ease. The bike feels very stable and easy to control. You may need a bike rack with a ramp if you plan on transporting it, however.

Replacing my Aventure

This new version .2 is awesome! The silver paint is beautiful gloss. Pedal assist is much more smooth. The wire guard over the Derailleur is a nice touch. I’m giving my Camo green first gen Aventure to a family member. It’s still riding great.

One sweet ride!

This Aventure.2 is birthday/Christmas gift to replace my previous e-bike, an Aventure that I bought 18 months ago that has over 16,100 miles on it. Yes, you read correctly, sixteen thousand one hundred plus miles on it. I purchased both bikes (and one for my wife) from California Bike & Snowboard to take advantage of the Black Friday sales. I spoke with Anthony one the phone and confirmed that they had one in stock and they prepped it Friday night so I could pick it up on Saturday. After riding my original bike over 20 miles Saturday morning I went to the shop and picked up my new bike. Since the shop is on a regional trail I jumped on the new bike and knocked out a quick 5 miles. This morning I had to take it out and put on almost 30 miles (29.7) and all I can say is that while I love my original bike this new bike surpassed all expectations. The torque control is awesome and I cruised between 16 and 20 mph without breaking a sweat.

So glad that upgraded and I think I will have to do the same for my wife — definitely 5 stars in our book! Aventon nailed it with the Aventure.2!
