As the Ramblas is a performance mountain bike, it’s not common for mountain bikes to have step-through options as the frame’s rigidity takes priority over everything for optimal performance and control on rougher terrain. Generally, mountain bikers of smaller size will simply choose a smaller size frame to ease their riding experience.
Yes. However, this will limit the Ramblas’s use. Ramblas is a class 1 electric bike, without a throttle it’s allowed on various dirt roads and mountain bike trails. Currently, there are no compatible throttle options for the Ramblas either.

Aventon’s Ramblas is a class 1 electric mountain bike, and does not include a throttle.
Aventon’s Ramblas is built to the IPX6 water-resistant standard. An IPX6 rating means the bike is protected against high-pressure water streams from any angle. This provides strong water resistance, so you can confidently ride in heavy rain or through puddles and mud. However, IPX6 does not mean waterproof—Aventon ebikes are not designed for full submersion. Avoid using a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike, as pressurized water can still damage components.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

Awesome Rail Trail Bike

I have owned a Ramblas mountain bike for 6 months and put over 1000 miles on it riding rail trails with my friends. The Ramblas has made the experience a great deal of fun. The bike has a fantastic range: on the lowest power setting it can easily go well over 60 miles. Even in the mid-power mode (trail) for the second half of the ride, it can go over 60 miles with a 1/4 of the battery power remaining. It climbs hills with ease and the tires really grip. I am over 70 and over 200 lbs but I can easily keep up with my younger friends on e-bikes. The bike has a tremendous gear range, so finding a comfortable gear for every situation is easy. The shifter and brakes are flawless. The built in display is easy to read and provides helpful information. The Aventon app links up easily with the bike and allows me to track all of my rides. The Aventon app also allows over the air updates for the firmware for the bike. They have added great new options on the bike to set maximum speed, adjust the degree of assist for each power level, and the updates have given the option to use an automatic 30 second boost when beginning to pedal or climbing a steep hill. Those changes have really raised the fun factor of riding the bike. The app allows me to send ride summaries to my friends.
I did make a few modifications to improve the fit and make the bike more comfortable for me. I added a PNW suspension dropper seat post. I also added longer and more swept back handlebars and grips with built-in bar ends. I added my favorite bike seat. I also added a rear rack with panniers. I have a bad back so for my next e-bike, I will buy one with rear suspension. This is my first e-bike but it has been a great experience. I have ridden bikes for 60 years, but the Ramblas helps me to ease stress on my knees and heart. It has made riding easy with people of different abilities. It has made riding so much fun that I have lost weight just enjoying rides on local trails. I enthusiastically recommend this bike!
